Commitment

Here at Church View we have encouraged all our people to attend training sessions such as Fire Lectures, MRSA, Health and saftey, Food Hygiene, to help maintain a high standard of care and accomodation.

We are also pleased to have supported people with achieving their NVQ's.

We know this brings benefits for our residents but it is also an investment in our people so they have the skills and confidence to do their job and feel valued as important members of our team.

Planning

Church View Homes has a plan with clear aims and objectives, we have to satisfy Local Authority inspections in order to keep our registration as well complying to fire regulations. We have a philosiphy of care and clear policies and procedures.

We hope that staff are kept aware of our successes and our concerns through staff meetings, memos, daily activity and handover meetings.and that people understand how their own work and training and development is contributing to the achievement of our plans.

Action

Our trained staff are a valuable source of on the job training and they understand what they need to do to support the development of people giving them new skills, new knowledge and more confidence.

People who are new to the job spend time here before theyir start date to familiarise themselves with our policies and then have an induction period until they understand our procedures and the high standards we set.

Peoples training is linked to external standards and qualifications like NVQ's, Food Hygene and first aid.

Evaluation

The management at Church View Homes feels that the investment of money and time in our staff has been worthwhile.

We can show that over the last few years the development of people has improved the performance of the organisation, the teams , and of individual people.
